Giggs may call it a day

Manchester United's Ryan Giggs is held back by Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas as they battle for the ball 

Ryan Giggs has hinted that he may retire at the end of this season.

The 35 year old has been at Old Trafford since he was a schoolboy, having inspired United to many honours for the club. 

He has 28 winners medals to his name which  include two Champions League titles,  10 Premier League championships and four FA Cup wins.

The Welsham told The Sun:

“I will keep playing as long as I enjoy it, I am fit and the manager wants me.

“If one of those three things stops, I will consider retiring. It could be at the end of this season.”

“Today, victories and titles make me happier than when I was younger,”  “Because I know that they could be my last.”

“I am at the end of my contract in May. ” So we will see. At the minute there hasn’t been any contact with United.

“I am as fit as I ever have been. The only difference is recovering from the game.”

His agent Hary Swales said United haven started talks about extending is contract.

“Ryan says he can still play on for a few more years.

“We haven’t spoken to United yet but I’m sure it will happen in due course.”

  1. he has done alot, The most decorated United player , and still these days he has it he saved us from losing with celtic he makes creates amazing passes, creates an attack, he’s our boy giggsy!
